REID ANNOUNCES ECONOMIC RECOVERY PACKAGE RESOURCE GUIDE
Manual provides a “how-to” for those seeking to take advantage of more than $1.5 billion in funding for Nevada

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced the release of his Resource Guide to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, hoping to help those in the Silver State access funding from the recently enacted economic recovery package.

The 62-page guide offers Nevadans a comprehensive view of all that is available to them in the economic recovery package, including a full listing of funding categories and programs, and contact information to inquire further about accessing money distributed through the package.

Through this package, Nevada will receive $1.5 billion in direct aid and Medicaid assistance, as well as millions more in competitive grants that collectively are expected to create and save nearly 34,000 jobs in our state. Reid believes it is critical that our families, businesses and municipalities have the information they need to access these funds as quickly as possible.

“I’ve received a number of requests from state elected officials, agencies, businesses and nonprofit organizations for more information about what funding is available and how we can assist them in accessing it,” Reid said. “There is great potential for this money to create jobs and new opportunities for people throughout the state, and I’m hopeful this resource guide will lend a helping hand so Nevada can take full advantage of the economic recovery package.”
