Nevada’s GreenPower program is run by DRI Research. The program’s mission is to support and promote the use and development of green sources of energy in Nevada, with an emphasis on educating Nevada’s K-12 population.
The program is a partnership between DRI, Nevada Power Company and Sierra Pacific Power Company whose customers voluntarily add a few dollars to their monthly electric bill to maintain a fund for renewable energy demonstration projects.
Money raised by the program is used to install solar panels and wind turbines onto select GreenPower schools - providing a small cost savings to the school, but more importantly hands-on experience to the students.
